Academic Want to learn more about Agriculture; Humanities; Mathematics, Science & Technology; Medicine & Health Sciences; Engineering; or Marine Science? Consider applying to an Academic Governor's School program.
Visual & Performing Arts Explore and expand your artistic side by applying to a VPA Governor's School: Dance, Theater, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, and Theatre. Foreign Language Academies Experience an immersive 3-week language program like no other. Not only sharpen your language skills but also learn more about the cultures. If you are interested in a full immersion program, you need to complete through level 3 of the target language by summer 2017. If you are interested in the Latin partial immersion program you must complete through level 2 of Latin by summer 2017. If you are interested in the Japanese partial immersion program you must complete through level 2 of any language by summer 2017.

All interested seniors and juniors are invited to attend a seminar on Wednesday, October 26 at 8:30 am in the Lecture Room. Students will learn tips to help their college essays or personal statements stand out. During the first part of the seminar, Ms. Belton will share information about how to make your writing unforgettable. Bring with you an essay or prompt that you are currently working on and stay for the workshop to work with peers or ask Ms. Belton any questions you may have.
All seniors and interested juniors are invited to attend a seminar on Tuesday, October 11 at 8:30 am in the Lecture Room. Students will learn how to navigate the Common App as well as get tips to make their application stand out. Also learn how to seamlessly connect Naviance to complete your Common Application.
Current sophomores are invited to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, October 13 at 8:30 am in room 201 about Massanutten Regional Governor's School. Susan Fream, the MRGS Program Director, will be giving a short presentation about the program, answering questions, and advising students on how to apply to the program.
MRGS is a 2-year program that students apply to their sophomore year and attend their junior and senior years. Students learn in a unique environment that challenges and teaches them to be researchers. Students take their English, math, and science classes at MRGS, with a program focus on environmental science and take their history and other elective classes at their home school. Each year students also complete an independent research project of their choice. Students interested in learning more about the program should attend the meeting or contact Ms. Belton for more information. Any sophomore is eligible to apply for the MRGS program. MRGS is a rigorous 2-year academic program focusing on environmental science. Students are bused to Triplet Tech in Shenandoah County each morning for science, math, and English classes. Students are enrolled in Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses and can earn many college credits while experiencing a research-based and hands-on curricula.
