The Discovery Museum in Harrisonburg is hosting the Explore Your Ideas club again this year. In this club, middle school students from the local area meet like-minded, curious peers and learn how to share their ideas with others. The club is linked with the TED-Ed program and students learn all about developing and expressing innovation coupled with presentation literacy. Middle school students work with JMU professors and the JMU debate team to develop a compelling presentation to share their thoughts and research on a subject of interest to them.
The program starts January 2017 but interested students need to apply by Monday, November 21, 2016. More information about the program can be found here, and the application can be found here.
